  • PromisePay is an online service that makes it easy to pay off your total balance and become debt-free. PromisePay works with WSSC Water and other utilities to offer flexible, interest-free payment plans for your debt.

  • WSSC Water is offering flexible payment plans through PromisePay to help you pay the balance of your WSSC Water bill in the way that works best for you. Some customers may also receive grants through programs such as the federal Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program to pay part of their past-due balance, which would reduce the remaining payment plan balance after the grants are received.

  • WSSC Water residential and commercial customers who have a balance on their bill can use this program. Residential and commercial customers with a balance of at least $50 are eligible for a payment plan.

  • Times are tough and many are still suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the recent economic downturn. WSSC Water has partnered with PromisePay to offer flexible payment plans that will meet your individual needs, help you get back on your feet and protect you from service disconnections.

  • No, these payment plans are interest-free. There are no fees whatsoever - no late fees, no prepayment penalties, etc.

  • Sign up in minutes with three easy steps:

    1. Choose a plan that works for you. We offer a wide range of options.

    2. Make your first payment. We accept credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfers (ACH).

    3. Pay off your balance over time with no interest and no late fees. We make it easy with automated monthly payments and reminders.

  • Any residential and commercial WSSC Water customer with a total balance of $50 or more is qualified for an interest-free payment plan.

  • Your payment plan covers your balance and your current charges as of today. You must pay all new bills with WSSC Water directly.

  • Your new bills must be paid to WSSC Water to keep your water service connected. Your payment plan payments will be processed by PromisePay. PromisePay is here to help you pay off your balance.

  • If you need an extension for your plan payment or need to make a change to your plan, just let us know. We are here for you and will do whatever we can to help you make it work.

  • Once you are enrolled in a payment plan with PromisePay, you have to keep up on your monthly payments with PromisePay AND pay all future water bills directly with WSSC Water. If you stay current on both your plan payments and pay all new water charges, you can avoid shutoffs.

  • Yes, if you sign up for a payment plan with PromisePay you can still get any available community-based grants or other relief that you are otherwise qualified for.

  • The fastest way to get your water service turned back on is to use our portal to start a payment plan today! Once you make the required 50% down payment and start the plan, please be sure to:

    1. Sign the Release of Liability on the back of the door hanger and post or hang it on your front door. WSSC Water technicians will only turn water back on if the release is signed and posted on the door. If you need a new release form, please click this link

  • Applications for the program will be accepted from March 1, 2025, through June 30, 2025. Please begin the application process by going to: www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent

  • Effective March 1, 2025, customers can quickly and easily apply online by completing the eligibility form at: www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent.

    The application process MUST begin at www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent.

  • Customers may only have one PromisePay payment plan at a time.

    To take advantage of the Get Current 2.0 program, please start by applying for the Get Current program at www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent to determine your eligibility for the program. If you are eligible for a Get Current plan, you will be redirected to PromisePay’s Get Current portal where you will be able to log into your existing WSSC account using your account details. Once signed in, you will have an option to upgrade your existing plan into a WSSC Get Current plan by paying 100% or 50% of your outstanding balance.

    Please note that Commercial and multi-unit residential accounts with master meters also qualify to have 100 percent of late payment charges and turn-on fees waived.

  • In order to receive the credits/benefits for the Get Current 2.0 program, customers must successfully complete their original PromisePay plan created with their Get Current 2.0 application. If a customer’s original Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan is cancelled, the customer will now only be eligible for a regular PromisePay plan option (and they will NOT receive credits/benefits).

  • Throughout the program's duration, WSSC Water will persist in suspending water service. We encourage our customers to apply for the Get Current 2.0 program if their water service has been disconnected because of non-payment. Please begin the process by going to www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent. Once enrolled in a Get Current plan, you must call WSSC Water at (301)206-4001 to have your water services restored. Alternatively, you can also enroll in a standard WSSC Payment Plan at this link, which is not eligible for the future bill credits.

  • If the customer applies for Get Current 2.0, and fulfills the program requirements; yes, the service reconnection fee will be waived. Remember the customer must apply for Get Current 2.0 first at www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent and the customer needs to meet the eligibility criteria and be accepted into the program.

  • Yes, if the customer meets the eligibility requirements. Please go to www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent to learn more.

  • Customers can visit www.wsscwater.com/getcurrent and sign up to be notified via email.

  • Yes, PromisePay requires a bank account or credit/debit card to sign-up for a PromisePay plan. The customer’s payment method will be kept on file and will be automatically charged each month until the customer completes their PromisePay plan. Once the customer successfully completes their PromisePay plan, the customer will receive the benefits from the Get Current 2.0 program.

  • No, credits cannot be refunded. The credit will be applied to the customer’s next bill. For questions on your credit, please contact WSSC Water directly. To find out how to contact WSSC Water, please go to https://www.wsscwater.com/customerservice.

  • The credit will be applied to the account once the customer successfully completes their PromisePay plan. Please note that it can take up to 5 business days depending on the volume of sign-ups.   • A customer may update their payment date within 30 days from their last payment; however, a customer may NOT request an extension or add a new bill to their existing Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan.

  • Not under the Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan. A customer can opt to cancel their Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan and request a regular PromisePay plan to add a new WSSC Water bill to their plan. Remember for customers to receive the Get Current 2.0 credit and benefits, the Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan needs to be successfully completed.

  • Yes.

  • Commercial accounts will get the late fees and turn-on fees waived once they complete their Get Current 2.0 PromisePay plan. However, commercial accounts will NOT be eligible to receive the 50% or 25% credit once their PromisePay plan is completed.
